Andrew, Jim & John Troyer – Troyer Kennel

An adult female white standard poodle named Pippie (ID # OAO2380148) was observed shaking her head several times. Upon examination, her left ear had a lot of hair growing out of the ear canal. This hair was clumped and matted with a copious amount of a thick, oily, brownish-black material. The skin around the affected area was slightly reddened. There was no noticeable odor detected. Ear problems can be extremely painful and/or itchy, can cause other health issues and affect the well-being of the animal. The licensee must have this dog evaluated by the veterinarian for proper diagnosis and treatment, and provide the inspector the documentation of this visit upon request. The licensee must ensure all animals are given proper veterinary care at all times. To be corrected by March 24, 2015.

Clean feces from under outdoor pens located on west side of facility.

Bedding is needed for inside of facility, for dogs located outside.

Vet. care plan needs to be completed.

One female dog located in far south pen located outside has over 10% matting, and needs to be properly groomed. One female dog located in far north pen located outside has over 10% matting, this dog also, needs to be properly groomed.

Feces needs to be removed from under pens, located in the northwest area of outside facility.

The record of dogs on hand was incomplete. The record did not have completed names and addresses from where the animals were acquired for 12 of the 13 dogs present. The licensee shall make, keep, and maintain records or forms which fully and correctly disclose the required information required by section 2.75 of this subpart concerning each dog or cat purchased or otherwise acquired, owned, held in his or her possession or under his or her control, or which is transported, euthanized, sold, or otherwise disposed of by that dealer. * To be corrected by: 9/9/22

Upon Request the Program of Veterinary Care(PVC) with the new Attending Veterinarian(AV) was incomplete. An incomplete PVC can affect the health of the dogs. For appropriate veterinary care and promote the health and well-being of the 18 adult dogs and 25 puppies, an complete PVC must be developed by the part time AV. This PVC must be available to APHIS officials upon request.

An contingency plan was not made available to APHIS officials upon request. In the event of an disaster, this could be detrimental to the good health and well-being of the dogs. For the health and well-being of the 18 adult dogs and 25 puppies, an contingency plan must be developed and address and or identify situations that can be trigger by an event. This plan must be available to APHIS officials upon request.
