• Bare wooden surfaces, rusted enclosures

  Wardens viewed multiple bare wooden surfaces in a few primary enclosures which were recently repaired that were not water resistant and readily sanitized. Wardens also viewed minor rust in a few primary enclosures that were not water resistant and readily sanitized. The kennel owner is in the process of upgrading all primary enclosures in the facility. This Warden directs the kennel owner to take the following action(s): Enable all surfaces in contact with the dogs to be readily cleaned and sanitized in accordance with paragraph (14) or be replaceable when worn or soiled. The interior building surfaces of housing facilities shall be constructed and maintained so that they are water resistant and may be readily sanitized.

• Waste and hair buildup near exercise area

  Wardens noted that when the kennel owner cleans the whelping buildings all excreta/hair/dirt is washed into a grass area that is right next to the outside kennel exercise areas. Wardens viewed a build-up of excreta and hair in this area.

• Six-month vet checks not completed on time

  Wardens viewed kennel records indicating that the 6 month vet check for all of the dogs was not completed every 6 months as required. The vet check was due on 4/1/2019 and it was completed on 5/7/2019.
