Warden noted a strong smell of ammonia upon entering the kennel's housing facility.

Warden observed an accumulation of dust on the tops of primary enclosures and excess cobwebs in the kennel.

This Warden noted a strong smell of ammonia upon entering the kennel's indoor housing area. Warden used an ammonia strip in the indoor housing area and the ammonia strip result was 50 ppm.

Wardens observed primary enclosures with excreta build up indicating that the enclosures had not been cleaned daily.

Veterinary examination was ordered on one (1) dogs under section 402(a) based on warden’s observations of the condition of the dogs during the inspection. The kennel is in compliance with section 402(d) because the veterinary examination was completed within 72 hours. Act 455.8(b)(3)(iii) / Regulation 16.63 – Vaccination required / Vaccine requirements The kennel owner, who has a limited certification to administer rabies vaccinations, was unable to provide proof of current rabies vaccinations for 1 adult dogs located within the kennel.

Veterinary examination was ordered on one (1) dogs under section 402(a) based on warden’s observations of the condition of the dogs during the inspection. The kennel is in compliance with section 402(d) because the veterinary examination was completed within 72 hours.

Warden viewed three dogs that had overgrown nails on both front and rear paws An employee of the Department may visually observe the physical condition of a dog sheltered at a kennel. A dog sheltered at a kennel shall be free of infectious and contagious diseases, and shall be in general good health. If a dog exhibits signs of poor health, the kennel owner shall have proof of adequate veterinary care for the dog.

Wardens observed dogs in the kennel that were excessively panting and uncomfortable. Kestrel temperature readings were 91 to 102 degrees Fahrenheit in the kennel. A cruelty referral was made to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area due to the observations of dogs at the time of inspection.

Wardens observed 1 dog with a chronic unmanaged genetic eye condition.

The kennel owner could not provide any veterinary medical records and does not have a regular veterinarian.
