- Female Yorkshire Terrier protruding tooth
Brown and Black Female Yorkshire Terrier ID# 941000013548998 had a lower canine tooth protruding from its lower jaw. The dog wouldn't allow the licensee to open its mouth for visual inspection. The dog's tooth is not normal and should be examined by a licensed veterinarian. Licensee stated she had noticed the tooth recently but had not taken the dog to the veterinarian for and examination and treatment. When physical abnormalities are observed they must be taken to a licensed veterinary for adequate treatment. Dental issues can be painful, and cause more serious health problems for the dogs. All health issues must be addressed and corrected in a timely manner. To be corrected by 01-07-2016.
- No bedding in five outdoor shelters
There is no bedding in the shelter structures in five outdoor enclosures housing 12 dogs. The ambient temperature at the conclusion of the inspection was recorded by the inspector's kestrel as 32.1 degrees F. In addition, according to the NOAA website (weather.gov) for the licensee's zip code, the lowest temperature recorded in the last 24 hours in the area was 19 degrees F. Dogs that are not provided dry bedding when the ambient temperatures are low can have a difficult time maintaining a safe body temperature. The licensee must provide dry bedding when the ambient temperatures are below 50 degrees F, and additional bedding when the temperature is below 35 degrees F. To be corrected by end of the day today.
