However, at the time of the inspection medical records of these activities were not available. Medical records are essential for APHIS inspectors to evaluate the quality of medical care provided by the facility and ensure the animals are protected from disease, injury, and illness. The licensee must keep copies of medical records for dogs and make the records available for APHIS inspection. These records must include routine husbandry procedures (such as vaccinations, preventive medical procedures, and treatments) performed an all animals.
