The bottom horizontal support tubing of seven dividing panels separating eight exterior runs on the south side of the kennel building are heavily corroded with broken areas of tubing and exposed sharp edges. There is also one panel where wire has broken from tubing and is protruding into the kennel. Additionally, there is tin immediately to the left of one dog egress/entry door that is corroded with roughened areas. The protruding wire, corroded tin and broken tubing pose an injury risk to dogs occupying the affected kennels. Primary enclosures must be constructed and maintained so that they have no sharp points or edges which could injure the dogs. The protruding wire into occupied kennels needs to be corrected by August 16, 2019. The broken tubing on panels in occupied kennels needs to be repaired, replaced or covered by August 20. 2019. The corroded tin in the occupied kennel needs to be repaired, replaced or covered by August 20, 2019.

The current pest control program of the facility is not meeting USDA requirements to prevent infestation and contamination of the facility by mice. During facility inspection the following was observed: 1) mouse feces, some intermixed with wall foam insulation particles, along floors and walls in whelping, prep/treatment and storage areas. 2) mouse feces on counter next to bowls and sink in prep/treatment room 3) mouse feces on refrigerator support shelf in prep/treatment room 4) mouse feces on shelving unit and on food bags in bedding/food storage room 5) 10 dead mice were visually observed on glue traps in the facility Rodents can carry diseases which may infect and harm other animal species, including dogs. These diseases may be spread through rodent droppings and urine. An effective pest control program, including control of rodents, must be established and maintained to prevent pest infestation and contamination, and to ensure the health and well-being of facility animals.
