What inspectors wrote

January 18, 2017 — Routine inspection, USDA 48-A-2003

118 dogs recorded (81 adults · 37 puppies).

  • Outdoor run with mud and water

The ground surface consisting of a mud and standing water mixture was observed in one outdoor enclosure housing three dogs. The mud and standing water is covering an estimated 50 to 60 percent of surface area being provided to the dogs. Mud can cause potential soiling on the dogs. Standing water can create an environment for the spread of diseases. Dogs not able to remain dry and clean at all times can have a negative effect on the health and well-being of the dogs. The licensee must ensure that housing facilities are equipped with drainage systems that rapidly eliminate water and animals stay dry. It also must minimize vermin and pest infestation, insects, odors and disease hazards. Correct by 2/1/17.
