There is a Frenchie (F, \"Donna\") black and white that has scabs and dry flakey skin throughout both ears. The inner ear structures appear swollen and inflamed with some scabbing inside the ear. Both ears have a moderate thickening of the inner ear flap surfaces. The ears of the dogs in the facility have not been on a regular ear cleaning schedule for several months. The dirty ears had not been observed until during the inspection and the scabby dry ears on \"Donna\" had not been treated or the veterinarian contacted for proper diagnosis or treatment."},{"h":"Pug neck mass with puncture wounds","tags":[],"q":"There is a fawn pug (\"Natalie\") that had a large swelling approximately 4-5 inches under the chin in the front of the neck. The swelling has a hard lump in it approximatley 2-3 inches and a dense thickening in the surrounding tissue in the neck. There are two puncture wounds that are red/inflammed with some redish/yellow fluid in and around the holes. The dog had been in a fight approximately 3-4 days prior and the licensee seperated the dogs and gave a penicillin injection to the injured pug \"Natalie\". … Regular cleaning of the area had not been done, just the antibiotic treamtent. While the animal does appear to be healing, the area still appears inflammed and has a very hard mass within the neck area that has not been properly diagnosed or seen by a veterinarian."},{"h":"Heartworm preventative not given regularly","tags":[],"q":"There has not been monthly heartworm preventative being given regularly according to the program of veterinary care. The gum appeared inflamed and swollen around the affected tooth, and there was some buildup of tarter on other teeth. In April 2025 during the yearly veterinary physical exams this dog was identified as requiring a dental at a grade of 3 out of 5 (worst), however the facility has not made an appointment and provided timely treatment, which has resulted in loose teeth. While there was no apparent infection or foul smelling odor in the mouth, due to the very loose teeth and tarter buildup the dental should have been scheduled after the veterinarians yearly physical as was recommended. The lack of timely dentals can cause unnecessary pain or discomfort to the regulated animal."},{"h":"Female French Bulldog in too-short enclosure","tags":[],"q":"There is a female Frenchie 'Tulip' (fawn, ID# 9273chip) that is in a primary enclosure that is too small in height as required by the AWA regulations and standards. The top of the enclosure is only three inches above her head, where the requirement is for a minimum of 6 inches above the head. For the past 3 weeks 'Tulip' was put in the smaller 2ft x 2ft x 2ft cage due to her climbing out of her original 6ft x 3.5ft open topped primary enclosure, until they could come up with a way to keep her from climbing out. She was let out daily in the facility, however the holding pen was too short per the requirements. A primary enclosure that is too small can cause stress or discomfort to the regulated animal.
