    During inspection there were no inventories or cage cards available for the nine puppies on the premises. Complete and accurate records including date of birth, regulated animal ID numbers (for puppies housed without the female), description, sex and dates of sale or death are necessary for proper management and traceability of the animals. Live puppies or kittens, less than 16 weeks of age, shall be identified by: An official tag as described in § 2.51, a distinctive and legible tattoo marking approved by the Administrator, a plastic-type collar acceptable to the Administrator which has legibly placed thereon the information required for an official tag pursuant to Sec. 2.51 or cage card attached to the enclosure that identifies the puppies with the female and to include all required information of the litter.
