- Shredded tarps hanging in enclosures
The housing facility provided for the puppies was not being maintained in good repair to protect the puppies from injury. There were five enclosures housing 14 puppies that had plastic tarps that had been placed on arched hog panels and along the side of the enclosures to provide shade for the dogs. The tarps were shredded with strings and pieces of the tarps hanging down into the enclosures. In addition, pieces of the tarp were seen on the ground within the enclosure accessible to the dogs. The tarps provided for shade in the enclosures were not being kept in good repair creating the potential for injury to the dogs if ingested or entangled. Housing facilities for dogs must be kept in good repair, and they must protect the animals from injury. To be corrected by August 21, 2026.
