Six puppies are in enclosure that is too small for them. The enclosure consists of an indoor cage with an outdoor run. If the puppies had access to the outdoor run, the enclosure would be more than large enough for them. However, the puppies have not figured out how to use the doggy door yet so therefore they are restricted to using just the inside part of the enclosure. The inside part of the enclosure measures 47 inches by 36 inches for a total of 1,692 square inches of space. Four of the puppies are 13 inches long, one is 13.5 inches long, and another is 11.5 inches long. Together they require 2,130.5 square inches of space and are short by 438.5 square inches of space. Cage space requirements ensure that the dogs have enough room to move about freely within their cages. It minimizes the dogs from stepping or sitting in their feces or urine and also minimizes the spread of disease. The licensee must ensure that all enclosures containing dogs and puppies have enough floor space to meet the minimum floor space requirements for the number of and the size of the dogs in that enclosure. Correct immediately.

A female Mini Aussie (microchip #900020180746302) was being kept in a stall in a barn tethered up. The dog has been tethered for the past two days. Tethering a dog for an extended period of time can be uncomfortable and stressful for that dog. In addition, it can result in injury to the dog. Tethering of dogs for use as a primary enclosure must be discontinued. Correct immediately.

The facility currently has 16 adult dogs that have not received the distemper and parvovirus vaccinations. Failure to vaccinate dogs for deadly and contagious diseases and to conduct sampling and treatment for parasites and other pests in accordance with the attending veterinarians approved schedule can expose the animals to increased disease risk and can delay treatment. Correct by ensuring that vaccinations for contagious and/or deadly diseases of dogs (including rabies, parvovirus, and distemper) and sampling and treatment of parasites and other pests (including fleas, worms, coccidia, giardia, and heartworm) in accordance with a schedule approved by the attending veterinarian are followed.

Upon inspection the licensee had three expired drugs in the kennel, the licensee was not currently using the drugs and was able to properly dispose of them during the inspection. Corrected on: 12/4/2025

The facility is not following the program of veterinary care for vaccinations. The Program of Veterinary Care currently prescribes dogs will be vaccinated for DAPP and Leptospirosis (7-way vaccine) annually. 2 adult dogs are not up to date on their Distemper, Parvo, or Leptospirosis vaccines: - Pelicity #48023 last administered on 26 June 2024 - Rhonda #41146 last administered on 26 June 2024 The facility representative stated that both dogs were pregnant when the vaccines were due so he was unable to vaccinate them at that time. He was not able to determine if the two dogs received the vaccine after the puppies were weaned. Failure to follow the preventative care schedule for vaccinations in the Program of Veterinary Care does not ensure the dogs are receiving appropriate protection against contagious and deadly diseases such as distemper, parvo, leptospirosis, and rabies which can lead to illness and discomfort to the dogs. The facility must follow the vaccination schedule approved by the attending veterinarian in the Program of Veterinary Care to protect the dogs from deadly or contagious diseases.
