USDA Inspections
USDA inspectors visit licensed dog breeders to check that their facilities meet federal Animal Welfare Act standards — housing, food and water, veterinary care, sanitation, and how the dogs are handled. Each visit produces a public report through the USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). For citations, we've included the first sentence of the report. Horrible Hundred
The Humane Society’s “Horrible Hundred” is an annual report that highlights dog breeders across the United States with repeated or serious animal-welfare concerns.
2013: Massive puppy mill with more than 750 dogs. USDA official warning for failing to provide vet care; dogs with eye lesions, oral masses, and severe malnutrition — one weimaraner had ribs, spine, and hips "easily visualized from a distance."
2014: USDA found repeat violations including untreated veterinary problems. Facility housed almost 900 dogs; state found underweight, sick, and injured dogs in dirty conditions with excessive feces.
2015: Massive mill with 1,030 dogs received USDA official warning for failing to provide medical care to ten dogs, including a dachshund who could not bear weight on his leg and a husky with lesions and hair loss.
2016: USDA found repeated violations at facility with more than 900 dogs; state found puppies in cages without solid resting areas and twelve missing puppies with no explanation. Breeder was secretly operating an unlicensed second facility.
2020: Now operating as Willow LLC with over 400 dogs. State found a husky with untreated discharge, puppies on flooring without solid resting surfaces, and dogs without proper documentation — violations recurred repeatedly since 2013.

Pawthenticity summarizes public inspection records from USDA APHIS to help people make informed decisions. The findings, citation codes, and dates shown are drawn directly from those records and reflect conditions documented on the inspection date(s) shown — they may not reflect current operations. Category and severity labels are our summary of the USDA's own findings, not independent judgments about a breeder.
