General requirements. The following enclosures need repair: (1) Kennel # 1, 1st enclosure has chewed glassboard on wall above the doggie door. (2) Kennel # 2 1st enclosure has protruding screws on the left wall. The above enclosures need to be repaired. Enclosures must be structurally sound and kept in good repair to protect the animal from injury. Correct by October 31, 2016.

Adult dogs are listed in the record of dogs in kennel by their name. The official USDA tag number, tattoo, or microchip number must be listed on the Record of Acquisition of Dogs and Cats on Hand (APHIS form 7005) to help identify and keep track of dogs. Licensee must ensure all dogs are identified in records with an official tag number, tattoo, or microchip to help keep track of animals. Correct by April 10, 2022.

Dogs and puppies are currently being listed on PA state records instead of the Record of Acquisition of Dogs and Cats on Hand (APHIS form 7005). Licensed dealers are required to use APHIS form 7005 and APHIS form 7006 to keep records unless a variance is requested and obtained to use a computerized record keeping system. Licensee must use APHIS form 7005 to keep track of dogs and puppies. Correct by April 14, 2022.

Warden viewed that there were adult dogs being housed on plastic mesh flooring. The floor of the primary enclosure shall be strong enough so that the floor does not sag or bend between the structural supports, shall not be able to be destroyed through digging or chewing by the dogs housed in the primary enclosure, shall not permit the feet of any dog housed in the primary enclosure to pass through any opening, shall not be metal strand whether or not it is coated, shall allow for moderate drainage of fluids and shall not be sloped more than 0.25 inches per foot.

Warden viewed the there were dogs in an enclosure that did not have a large enough exercise area.

Wardens viewed adult dogs present in an area that the kennel owner did not have an engineer certification of the kennels ventilation system.

Wardens viewed 4 dogs over 12 weeks of age in one enclosure that did not have enough space for all the dogs housed in said enclosure.

Wardens viewed dogs over 12 weeks of age on flooring that had spaces between them that were more than 0.5 inch in width.

Wardens viewed dogs over 12 weeks of age in one enclosure not having enough space in exercise area for the number of dogs in the enclosure.

Wardens observed incomplete records being kept in the kennel.

Warden viewed temperature data history taken by the data reader located in the kennel building that had multiple days with temperature readings under 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Wardens viewed all fans installed in both kennel buildings were turned off, meaning there was not air moving continually within the kennel buildings as required by law and outlined in the kennels engineering certification.

Wardens viewed both kennel buildings not having a humidifier powered on, the current humidity and data history taken by the data reader located in both of the kennel buildings had multiple days with humidity readings under 30%.
