Wardens viewed a rusted doggy door in an outside exercise area. This rusted door was discussed with the kennel during previous inspections and hasn’t been repaired in a timely manner.

Wardens viewed the data logger a kennel building that showed multiple days where the heat index was greater than 85 degrees and humidity levels greater than 70% for periods of 4 hours or more.

The kennel owner failed to take steps to restore the kennel housing facility to a condition complying with this section.

The kennel owner also failed to provide documentation that a veterinarian was contacted during the periods of high heat/humidity/head index.

Wardens noted humidity levels above 70% in three of the kennel buildings during this inspection.

This Warden viewed an adult dog in a primary enclosure with no unfettered access to an exercise area.

Wardens viewed primary enclosures that were caked with dirt and grime.

Wardens viewed that there was one primary enclosure that was not large enough for the dog housed therein.

Wardens viewed vinyl type coated flooring to be peeling off.

Wardens viewed an accumulation of excreta underneath primary enclosures which housed dogs.

Wardens viewed an accumulation of dirt, hair, flies, and cobwebs throughout the kennel building and the grounds surrounding the kennel.

Wardens viewed one primary enclosure that did not have an entryway that will allow the dogs unfettered clearance out of the enclosure to an outdoor exercise are as required.

Wardens viewed that there was no outdoor exercise area provided to primary enclosure that housed an adult dog.

Warden measured the current humidity level in the kennel at 77.7% in the top main kennel and 74.0 % in Ben's main kennel. Data logger readings since the last inspection frequently exceeded humidity levels.

A veterinary examination was ordered on 4 dogs under section 402(a) based on warden’s observations of the condition of dogs during inspection. Kennel is in compliance with section 402(d) because veterinary examination was completed within the 72-hour time frame.

Wardens viewed primary enclosures that were caked with dirt, dust, and grime.

Wardens viewed a buildup of spiderwebs on multiple surfaces throughout the main kennel building which encourages pests and contributes to poor sanitary conditions.

Wardens viewed multiple dogs to have overgrown fur that was mildly matted.

Wardens viewed that the kennel owner had transferred 3 dogs over 8 weeks of age from out of state that were not accompanied by a proper CVI as required.

Wardens viewed two primary enclosures that were not large enough for the dogs housed therein.

Wardens viewed current humidity and data history taken by the data reader located in one of the kennel buildings having multiple days with humidity readings over 70%.

Warden and veterinarian viewed puppies which had their tails banded with a rubber ligature in an attempt to dock their tails. This method of tail docking cuts off circulation to the tail and causes pain and can lead to infection.
