Wardens observed wood that was not sealed and in need of repair. Additionally, a portion of the surface was not readily available to be sanitized.

This Warden observed a large section of wood in need of repair.

Chain link on numerous entrance gates to outside exercise enclosures had wire that was bent and/or broken and protruding into the enclosure.

Warden observed primary enclosures that were not of adequate size for the dogs housed therein.

Wardens observed broken wire that was twisted, exposing sharp edges. This housing facility was not maintained in a manner to protect the dogs from injury.

Wardens observed exposed wood surfaces on the interior of housing facilities which were not constructed or maintained so that they are water resistant and may be readily sanitized. Some metal surfaces had rust observed as well.

Wardens observed dogs in primary enclosures that did not allow sufficient space for each dog to turn about freely and to stand erect, sit and lie down in a comfortable, normal position.

Wardens observed multiples dogs in primary enclosures whose heads were touching the top of the enclosure and did not have at least 6 inches of space when in a normal standing position.

Wardens observed newspaper bedding saturated with urine in primary enclosures.

Wardens observed an accumulation of dust, debris, and excreta inside primary enclosures.

Wardens observed large holes in the ground in the exercise area for the dogs, one of which was covered with a cinder block.

There was also extra fencing material leaning in areas where it could be knocked over by the dogs and cause injury.

Wardens found one adult dog (21 weeks of age) on premises who had not been vaccinated against rabies yet.

This Warden found record of (1) puppy transferred to new owners under 8 weeks of age.

This Warden observed exposed wood surfaces on raised beds within dogs' housing facilities which were not constructed or maintained so that they are water resistant and may be readily sanitized.

This Warden found records to be incomplete.

Wardens found an accumulation of debris inside primary enclosures.

Wardens and Dr. Ward found several dogs with significant advanced periodontal disease, one with generalized eye pain, and one with poor body condition score of 1/5 per Dr. Ward. The kennel operators did not have proof of veterinary care for these dogs.

Wardens found records to be incomplete.

A veterinary examination was ordered on (3) dogs under section 402(a) based on warden’s and state veterinarian’s observations of the condition of dogs during an inspection. Kennel is in compliance with section 402(d) because the veterinary examination was completed within the 72-hour timeframe.

Wardens observed wood surfaces that were not sealed or covered to be water resistant in the enclosures located in the “maternity ward” area of the kennel.

Wardens viewed numerous dogs house in primary enclosures that were not provided sufficient space to sit or lie down comfortably or turnabout freely.

Wardens observed dogs housed in primary enclosures with interior height that were not at least 6 inches higher than the head of the tallest dog contained therein.

Wardens observed a coating of dust, dirt, and debris on surfaces throughout the kennel.
