There was no recorded date for fecal float testing for 30 dogs. Annual fecal float testing is important for the health of the animals. Fecal float testing is done to ensure that there are no active internal parasites. The licensee must ensure that all dogs are receiving vaccinations for contagious and/or deadly diseases of dogs (including rabies, parvovirus, and distemper) and sampling and treatment of parasites and other pests (including fleas, worms, coccidia, giardia, and heartworm) in accordance with a schedule approved by the attending veterinarian. The facility does not maintain complete medical records for adult dogs. The facility states that the adult dogs were up to date on Distemper, Parvovirus, and Rabies vaccines, but they could not provide documentation for most vaccines administered. Failure to maintain adequate medical records may interfere with the ability of APHIS officials to determine if the animals are receiving adequate veterinary care. Complete medical records must be maintained and include the names of all vaccines and treatments administered and the dates of administration. The facility was unable to provide documentation of heartworm or fecal tests performed. The facility stated that the tests are performed in accordance with the schedule in the Program of Veterinary Care but they could not provide the test results. Medical records must be maintained and include the dates and findings/results of all screening, routine, or other required or recommended test or examination. The facility states they administered an expired vaccine to animals. A box of Bordetella vaccines were found with an expiration of 8-APRIL-2026. The facility stated they administered this vaccine to four dachshund puppies after the expiration date but there have been no impacts on the animals. Expired medications are improper for usage as they may not be effective at preventing disease or they may cause harm to the animals. Each dealer or exhibitor shall establish and maintain programs of adequate veterinary care that include the use of appropriate methods to prevent, control, diagnose, and treat diseases and injuries. Correct by ensuring all medications used on animals have not expired. The facility disposed of the vaccines at the time of inspection.
