USDA Inspections
USDA inspectors visit licensed dog breeders to check that their facilities meet federal Animal Welfare Act standards — housing, food and water, veterinary care, sanitation, and how the dogs are handled. Each visit produces a public report through the USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). For citations, we've included the first sentence of the report. Horrible Hundred
The Humane Society’s “Horrible Hundred” is an annual report that highlights dog breeders across the United States with repeated or serious animal-welfare concerns.
2014: Roy Miller of Rose Run Kennel (Sugarcreek, OH) was included in this report. Six no-access inspection attempts in three years. USDA inspectors made eight visits between March 2012 and December 2013 but gained access only twice and found problems: dogs with untreated medical issues, dirty conditions; violates Animal Welfare Act to fail facility access for regular inspections.
