Looking for a Newfoundland breeder? Glossy websites and cute puppy photos make it hard to know what a kennel is really like. Pawthenticity is a nonprofit that collects public government inspection records into free, searchable breeder profiles, so you can see what inspectors found before you bring a Newfoundland home.
Pawthenticity tracks 12 licensed kennels that breed Newfoundlands. They average 98 dogs of all breeds, and the largest has 314. More than half (7 kennels, or 58%) have been cited by inspectors, for 22 citations in total. The kennels are in 7 states, mostly Missouri (3), Pennsylvania (2), Nebraska (2), Ohio (2) and New York (1). Hobby and unlicensed breeders aren't included.
