Warden gave copies of records for puppies and dogs kept in kennel and explained how to fill them out. Water Resistance: 207(b)/21.21(b) Warden observed untreated wood flooring in kennel run area.

There was no APHIS 7006 form completed for a litter of 6 puppies sold on April 13, 2024. Failure to keep and maintain records on puppies sold on APHIS 7006 form makes it difficult to keep track of litters. Licensee must complete an APHIS 7006 form for all dogs and puppies sold. Correct by April 19, 2024.

A review of records had all 3 copies of APHIS form 7006 retained by the licensee since January. A copy of the sale form must accompany each dog of puppy sold to keep track of animals. Licensee must ensure that one copy of the record (APHIS form 7006) must accompany each dog or puppy sold or disposed of. Correct by April 19, 2024.

Storage. There were 3 open bags of bedding in the hall of the kennel. Open bags of food and bedding must be stored in a manner that protects supplies from spoilage, contamination, and pests. Licensee must ensure that open bags of bedding are stored in leakproof containers with lids to protect supplies from pests and contamination. Correct by April 22, 2024.

A written exercise plan for dogs was not available for review. The facility houses dogs in groups or individually and the enclosures provide adequate floor space to meet exercise requirements. Failure to provide a written exercise plan may result in lack of sufficient exercise to maintain physical health and well-being of the dogs. Dealers must develop, document, and follow an appropriate plan, approved by the attending veterinarian, to provide dogs with the opportunity for exercise and the plan must be available to APHIS upon request.
