The openings in the flooring measured 1.375 inches by 0.875 inches. The puppies were able to easily stick their legs through the flooring. I observed the puppies tripping and getting stuck as they were trying to walk around the enclosure. Mesh flooring that allows the puppies legs to pass through the openings can result in the puppies getting injured. The licensee must either move the puppies to an enclosure where their legs won't pass through the openings or fix their current enclosure so they are unable to pass their legs through those openings.
