Wardens viewed that the kennel owner violated the kennel’s license type and failed to obtain the correct licenses for the types and volume of business being conducted (commercial and dealer).

Kennel owner did not possess complete and accurate records for all dogs transferred by the kennel for the year.

During the inspection, wardens observed several dogs with moderate to severe matting.

"Rocket", a male, adult, black and white Standard Poodle-type dog was severely matted. He had generalized matting of his fur with urine, dirt and feces. His matting, when palpated, was present down to the level of, and pulling on, his skin. "Rocket" also had a significant amount of feces matted to his perianal area.

While a certification was present, wardens were unable to make the minimum inspection of assuring that the proper mechanical ventilation, auxiliary ventilation, or humidity control system was installed or operational as not all of the required equipment was installed.

Wardens observed one black Pomeranian freely jumping from one enclosure to another during the inspection.

Wardens observed nursing bitches in enclosures that were not adequate in size.

Wardens observed two primary enclosures that contained seven (7) adult dogs.

There was no written program of veterinary care for the kennel.

Wardens observed the kennel owner hosing down the primary enclosure with the dogs still in the enclosure.

Wardens were not able to view records for each dog containing the date of each dog’s last veterinary check.

Area (Unfettered access) / Exercise Area (Structure and Maintenance) / Exercise Area (Outdoors) Wardens viewed dogs with no unfettered access to an exercise area on ground level and outdoors.

Wardens were unable to verify veterinary records for all dogs on the premises.

The kennel owner did not have a bill of sale for a new dog that was on the kennel premises.

Wardens observed primary enclosures that did not provide the required minimum amount of floor space.

Wardens observed exercise areas that did not provide the required minimum amount of floor space.

Wardens viewed a dog in an exercise area that did not allow for unfettered clearance from the primary enclosure.

Wardens were unable to verify veterinary records for all dogs on the premises.

Wardens viewed several nails/screws protruding into dogs exercise area.

Wardens viewed presence of untreated chewed wood and rusted metal fencing in the dogs exercise areas.

Wardens observed primary enclosures that did not provide the required minimum amount of floor space.

Wardens viewed that the kennel owner exceeded their kennel class on August 30, 2019.

This Warden viewed that the kennel owner was utilizing bedding that was shredded apart by the dogs housed therein and could be potentially harmful to the dogs house therein.

This warden viewed areas of the kennel that were constructed of untreated wood.

This Warden viewed a dog in an enclosure that was not large enough for the dog enclosed therein.

This Warden viewed many flies and cobwebs in one area of the kennel and did not view any methods of controlling them.

This Warden viewed that one adult dog did not have unfettered access to and from an exercise area.

This Warden viewed several dogs with no exercise area on ground level.

This Warden viewed one adult dog which did not have an exercise area outdoors.

The ventilation system was not able to be inspected by wardens for one building at the kennel due to not having received a certification for the kennel.

The kennel owner and her daughter completed a lease agreement attempting to seperate 12 dogs from her ownership; however, this lease agreement was not valid. The following violations are based upon the housing of these 12 dogs.

Warden viewed that not all dogs were in a primary enclosure that was large enough for the dog housed therein.

Warden viewed that a dog was being housed in a cage that had wire flooring. Also in the main kennel a mother with puppies had access to an area that was wire flooring.

Warden viewed records that were missing information required to be kept, such as, the physical address of where dogs went, dates of when dogs left the kennel, dates of when dogs enter the kennel, and viewed dogs in kennel that were not on record.

Wardens viewed areas in the outside runs that had screws sticking out of broken panels and an area in the outside area that had a huge pool of standing stagnant water.

Wardens viewed several puppies that came from out of state that had not been quarantine for 14 days before being transferred to a new owner.

A veterinary examination was ordered on (1) dog under section 402 (a) based on the warden's observations of the condition of dogs during an inspection. Kennel is in compliance with section 402(d) because the veterinary examination was completed within the 72 hour timeframe.
